Sorry Al, Leo - Most scientists don't agree with you about global warming

Perhaps the climate alarmists will update what "expert" sources they cite when making the preposterous claim that man is responsible for global warming, and that global warming is in fact anything to be alarmed over.

A new study has been conducted showing that most scientists do not believe man is the primary "cause" of global warming:

In fact of all papers published in this period (2004 to February 2007), only a single one makes any reference to climate change leading to catastrophic results.

These changing viewpoints represent the advances in climate science over the past decade. While today we are even more certain the earth is warming, we are less certain about the root causes. More importantly, research has shown us that -- whatever the cause may be -- the amount of warming is unlikely to cause any great calamity for mankind or the planet itself.

Liberal Kook of the Week

This week's honors go to Democrat presidential candidate, John Edwards, who's great plans for the future of our country are that Americans sacrifice unnecessarily. In this case, he doesn't think we'll "mind" giving up our SUVs. (His wife has already lamented that she'll be giving up tangerines for the benefit of the country.) Wow. The future sure looks bright under these two!

This would be laughable if there weren't something so morally wrong with this idea. WHY must Americans sacrifice? What great, pressing disasterous threat looms over us that we must sacrifice, give up the SUV's that we like to drive, stop buying fruit grown more than two states away, use one square of toilet paper, etc. - what is it that we should all be fearful of, that only big government can protect us from?? Ahhhh, that's right - global warming. Well, you all know my thoughts on that - it's a complete crock that man effects the temparature of this planet. Period. Those who would have you believe otherwise have a political agenda.

It's sad how many people fall into this trap. As Ayn Rand says - the sanction of the victims is necessary for any abuses against them. Americans let these nuts like Edwards make them feel guilty - we're too prosperous, we use too much energy, we don't sacrifice enough for the environment. These people need to wake up and ask themselves WHY Democrats want you to feel so guilty.

The fact is - we may not like it, but we can afford $3 a gallon gas. We're still buying SUV's and we're still driving as much as we did before; our commutes to work didn't change because the price of gas went up. The fact is that many people don't like paying $90 to fill up their tank and are looking for more fuel efficient cars; the private auto companies are producing more hybrids and small cars and improving gas mileage for us. They are experimenting with alternative sources of fuel like E85 and fuel cell technology. The most pressing reason to move foward with this is to lessen our dependence on unstable regions of the world where we currently get most of our oil; short term solutions would be more domestic drilling and huge tax breaks for companies to build refineries right here at home.

There is no reason that we should feel guilty for anything we have - our prosperity, our technology, our SUVs or our Quilted Northern. There is no reason for us to sacrifice anything - this isn't World War II here - we don't need to start donating our old tires and rationing our food just yet... Nor will we have to so long as capitalism and freedom prevail.

Remember the good old days???

When a good juicy sex scandal was between a man and a woman and didn't involve a public restroom??

UPDATE: I'm going to play a little word game here. Does anyone remember this statement?

Pelosi said Jefferson "represents the Democrat party" and that "his conduct throughout this matter has been inappropriate for a U.S. congressman."

Can't remember it??? No, because it never happened. Nor will it ever happen, so long as the criminal involved is a Democrat. But it was said when Republicans called for Craig's resignation today:

Hoekstra said Craig "represents the Republican party" and that "his conduct throughout this matter has been inappropriate for a U.S. senator."

Do you know what this proves, in contrast to Democrats, yet again....

At least we have standards.

Clinton Culture of Corruption at it again

Either these folks came into a large inheritance and donated every penny of it to Hillary, or something that smells like cattle dung is going on here... (Or maybe businessman Norman Hsu gave them the money after living at their house for a few years...)

UPDATE: This isn't exactly the first time little discrepancies like this have been connected to the Clintons...

Ah - and here's a good one:

Paul is a three-time convicted felon who hosted a Hollywood fund-raising event for Mrs. Clinton in 2000 and is facing charges of stock fraud in New York. He alleges he underwrote most of the costs for the event. Prosecutors contend he did so in an effort to try to win a pardon from then-President Bill Clinton.

And how could we forget her husband's technology for campaign donations swap with the Chi-coms??

UPDATE: There's more to Mr. Hsu than we initially thought:

Mr. Hsu’s career hit a low in 1989, when he began raising $1 million from investors as part of a plan to buy and resell latex gloves.

Ronald Smetana, a lawyer with the California attorney general’s office, said Mr. Hsu was charged with stealing the investors’ money after it turned out he never bought any gloves and had no contract to resell them.

When Mr. Hsu was to attend a sentencing hearing, he faxed a letter to his lawyer saying he had to leave town for an emergency and asking that the court date be rescheduled, Mr. Smetana said.

He failed to show up for the rescheduled appearance, and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. That was the last that prosecutors saw of Mr. Hsu.

Oh- I do hope Hillary wins the nomination!!!

Democrats Flounder and Quail as Worst Nightmare is Realized

That's right, the surge seems to be working. Even Hillary Clinton admits it. And Democrats are anxiously trying to find something negative in this positive news for Ameria. They think they've got it by pointing out Iraq's struggling political system. They define "struggling" by half of the Iraqi Congress wishing for the country's Consitution and form of government to fail - oh, wait, I'm sorry, that's the U.S. Democrats. Well, I'll have to get back to you on how they're going to define it, but make no mistake - they will find SOMETHING bad to complain about. There will still be doom and gloom for the Iraqis, perhaps connected to global warming....

There's a Hint of Autumn in the Air...

We had a high of about 60 degrees here yesterday - that damned global warming - but, actually, the title alludes to the approach of football season.

College rankings are out and U of M was ranked #5 by both the AP and USA Today. With our three top players returning as seniors it looks promising! (at least until we have to play in a bowl game...) Don't know if I'll have the heart to watch ND much - it's a sad day in America when Hawaii is ranked higher than the Irish.

But... I thought we were all supposed to be miserable?

According to a recent Harris Poll, 94% of Americans are satisfied with their lives.

(Shhh- don't let the MSM find out!)

Written by people who love America...

"If you ask me to name the proudest distinction of Americans, I would choose -because it contains all the others--the fact that they were the people who created the phrase 'to make money.' No other language or nation had ever used these words before; men had always thought of wealth as a static quantity --to be seized, begged, inherited, shared, looted or obtained as a favor. Americans were the first to understand that welath has to be created. The words 'to make money' hold the essence of human morality.
"Yet these were the words for which Americans were denounced by the rotted cultures of the looters' continents. Now the looters' credo has brought you to regard your proudest achievements as a hallmark of shame, your prosperity as guilt, your greatest men, the industrialists, as blackguards, and your magnificent factories as the product and property of muscular labor, the labor of whip-driven slaves like the pyramids of Egypt. The rotter who simpers that he sees no difference between the power of the dollar and the power of the whip, ought to learn the difference on his own hide --as, I think, he will.

"Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction."

-Francisco D'Anconia from Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged

I'm re-reading Atlas at the moment - what a great book. So many parallels between their looters' society and modern-day democrats! It really captures what the Dems would like this country to become - God help us. The best defense of capitalism I've ever encountered and a great story if anyone is looking for something quality to read yet this summer.

Speaking of entertainment, Stephen King has the best, most comprhensive HP review I've read thus far. And I promise I'll stop talking about that now, at least until the next movie comes out...

Evil All Powerful and All Knowing Genius Resigns

Karl Rove announced he's resigning from Dubya's cabinet earlier today.

Poor President Bush - if he thought he was in trouble before, what is he going to do now that he has no one to help him plan hurricanes targeting areas with heavy minority populations, take away the civil rights that our Constitution guarantees to terrorists, increase the earth's temperature by his sheer mind power??? Who will help him take over the world, make more bridges and mines collapse, feed the hearts of baby dolphins to their friends in 'Big Oil'??

In all seriousness- I will miss Karl Rove. If nothing else, for the nasty expression his name invokes from liberals... God bless him.
