Bush: Good Republican or Socialist in Disguise?
Speakers at the Cato Institute's recent conservative forum did not have many good things to say about President Bush. In fact, they go so far as to call him a "socialist." Personally, I think some of these people sound as stark ravingly paranoid as a liberal.
We're Bush fans here at Conservababes. We think he's a good guy --honest, genuine, etc., who truly cares about this country. We support his strategy to win the war on terror. We're glad he got tax cuts through (can we PLEASE make them permanent now??), and are happy with his Supreme Court appointments.
However, he does spend A LOT of money. I'm all for spending on the military. I understand why we wanted to give aid to victims of Katrina (though not sure the aid has been appropriated in the right way...). But I do see the point these speakers made about his spending and growth of government.
Reagan was the man. Wish we had ten more of him to run this country. I like Bush, but he's no Reagan. Someone needs to remind him that Republicans like SMALLER government and LESS spending.
What does everyone think???
BTW, we have no wish to hear from you rabid Bush-hating liberals out there. Your opinions don't matter on this one. Thanks.
