New Head Coach

Russ Who? My source was apparently not so reliable..

The Lions announced yesterday they've hired Rod Marinelli (Tampa Bay asst. coach/defensive line coach) as their new head coach.

Let's see... he's never been a head coach anywhere, not even in college; he's never even been a coordinator. So I guess he has nothing to lose if the Lions sink again! His reputation as a coach can't be ruined because he's never been one! Wow. Millen is a GENIOUS! Oh, and I'm really glad he's got such expertise with the defensive line, because we all know that's been the Lions biggest problem. I mean, if that D-line would have been on top of things, I'm sure Joey and his receivers would have been able to deliver...

But honestly, all he has to do is improve on this:

The Lions are coming off a tumultuous 5-11 season that included a quarterback controversy, squabbling among teammates and a fan revolt. The Lions have gone 21-59 in the past five seasons and have won one playoff game since 1957.

...and he'll be a success!
