Notes from a "Retired Preacher"

Happy Friday!

The other day I received an e-mail from someone who visited here, and I asked his permission to share it with you all. He calls himself "ExPreacherMan" and his note was thoughtful, inspiring, and very encouraging...so I thought I'd share that encouragement with all of you!

As a 76 year old self-professed "closed minded conservative" (ha), his perspective on history, both recent and past, is a valuable resource for all of us "younguns" who are passionate about our beliefs and determined not to let the liberal whackjobs take over our country.

Anyway, here's what he sent me:
As an old time conservative country preacher, it warms my innards to see such a plethora of conservatives on the Internet, shouting out loud the very soul and blessings of our Republic, jabbing the inner-enemies of our country with the Right words.

In 1964 after we suffered such an excruciating defeat in the Goldwater campaign, we felt like the last leaves of summer dangling from a scrawny dead limb. We were alone and about to drop to the ground to be trampled underfoot by the Lefties. We survived and it appears that some seeds fell to the ground and have been sprouting very well... Thank you!

Back then we would have been thrilled to have you guys and all the other outspoken conservatives pushing to preserve our liberties. We probably would have won! We thought it was bad with Kennedy.. but it got worse with Johnson, Carter, Ford, Clinton, et al. (the KJCFC combo). If y'all can hang on and grind the Liberals into the dust.. my great grandchildren and your kids and their progeny will thank you. Don't ever let the enemies of our country regain power.(Or as Rush says, leave one Liberal around just for laughs). Keep reminding others as you grow older... just how rapidly liberalism and socialism progressed under the KJCFC combo.
"KJCFC combo". That's a keeper!

He has other insights and stories to tell - most recently a run-in he had with our old pal Dan Rather...but that's another post for another time. That is, if he'll give us permission to publish it.

Please visit his blog often. Thank you ExPreacherMan for making the Conservababes' week and for letting us share your note with everyone else. And welcome to the wonderful world of blogging!

Ya'll have a great weekend!
